What causes dry skin?

Healthy adult skin is approximately 50 percent water. Actual water content affects skin softness and flexibility. Skin loses water through evaporation, especially in a hot, arid climate and during extreme winter months. General health also plays a significant part in the condition of your skin.

Can skin develop build-up, similar to hair build-up?

What is the best way to care for my skin?

We have found the best results come from starting with a mild, moisturizing body wash, followed by a hydrating moisturizer, formulated for quick absorption. We recommend either the Desert Sage or Wild Primrose line. You will love the results

What causes static electricity in my hair?

Lack of moisture in the air is the primary cause of static electricity in hair. Sun, wind, and harsh shampoos are also factors. Winter seems to be the worst season for static electricity because forced-air heating systems rob hair of moisture needed to remain static free.

Why does Tijeras recommend daily shampooing?

Our shampoo is so mild that, for best results, we recommend a daily regime. Daily shampooing enhances hair's volume and sheen while adding needed moisture. Daily shampooing stimulates the scalp, encouraging blood flow, which helps hair grow healthier.

Should I alternate Tijeras hair care products with other products?

It is not necessary to alternate products, unless you experience build-up from styling aids, chlorine, or mineral water residue. Build-up may result from conditioners, if you fail to shampoo twice or do not rinse thoroughly. If you experience build-up, use a professional, clarifying shampoo to help gently strip build-up. Use it periodically, followed by Tijeras Organic Alchemy Crimson Clove Revitalizer (deep penetrating conditioner).

Hair is dead, so what difference does it make which shampoo and conditioner you use?

Think of your hair as a fabric made of fine silk. With proper care, the "fabric" remains beautiful. Healthy hair, when gently cleansed, has its nutrients and moisture replaced. Hair shafts will remain strong, and hair will feel silky, have gentle movement, and maintain elasticity for easy styling.
